The guest – Josiah Novak
Josiah is a dad to 2 young kids – a 2 year old and a 7 month old boys. So, he knows what it’s like to be a new dad and the demands that this new role has on our resources (e.g. time and energy).
As a health and lifestyle coach he dedicates a lot of time on his fitness, but it hasn’t always been like this. He’s been obese and even suicidal in the past. Because of this, he knows and understands first-hand the struggles that people go through when trying to transform their bodies.
After struggling with his own health for many years, he has finally found a sustainable lifestyle that he could follow. Josiah and I both agreed that this is the key for new parents as well – our fitness and our habits need to be sustainable. As new parents, we need to set realistic goals for our health and fitness, so our motivation and activities wouldn’t vanish as most new year’s resolutions do.
One of the reasons why I wanted to bring him on was my own back story. Like many fellow new dads, I too gained quite a bit of weight when we expected our daughter. I also (surprisingly to myself) struggled with getting back to my routines and getting back in shape.
So, if you’re a dad that prioritizes being healthy and fit, tune in!
We’ll be talking about:
- Josiah’s own struggles when he became a dad.
- His thoughts on the “dad bod” movement.
- How working out is not only good for our physical health, but also for our mental and emotional well-being.
- Actionable takeaways on how to find time to stay healthy as a new parent.
